Previse Systems, a leading provider of next-generation Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) solutions, today announced that PowerCo SE, the Volkswagen Group's battery cell company, has selected the Previse Coral platform to underpin power procurement across its global network of gigafactories.

Following a multi-stage tender process, PowerCo selected Previse Systems as its ETRM partner to establish a for its battery cell production sites in Salzgitter (Germany), Valencia (Spain) and St. Thomas (Canada). Each factory is designed to run exclusively on electricity from renewable sources, making sophisticated power procurement and risk management central to PowerCo's operating model.

This agreement marks an important milestone for Previse Systems: an entry into the industrial corporate segment alongside the company's continued growth among utilities, traders and direct marketers, and a flagship reference within the Volkswagen Group.

As a cloud-native SaaS solution on Microsoft Azure, Previse Coral integrates seamlessly with PowerCo's existing technology landscape. This architecture supports a single source of truth across consumption forecasts, own generation, PPA volumes and market data.

PowerCo is rolling out Gigafactories across the globe, and our energy procurement setup needs to grow with us. With Previse, we found a partner that understands our business needs and offers the right technical solution. Their modular architecture gives us exactly the flexibility we need to scale our procurement operations alongside each new factory.

Janine Münchow, Director of General Procurement at PowerCo SE

Being selected by PowerCo is a strong validation of Previse Coral in a highly demanding industrial energy procurement context. Managing large-scale, renewables-based power supply across multiple production sites requires a level of transparency, control and robustness that goes beyond traditional ETRM use cases. This project demonstrates that our platform is well suited to support these requirements at scale.

Marc Zumstein, Chief Revenue Officer at Previse Systems

The engagement will follow a phased rollout. Phase 1 focuses on the Salzgitter site, where PowerCo is establishing forward and futures hedging capabilities alongside the integrated capture of trades executed by external partners. Subsequent rollouts will extend the platform to Valencia and St. Thomas.
